ZiGo Privacy Policy

ZiGo ("ZiGo," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect your information when you use the ZiGo mobile application, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").

By using ZiGo, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1) Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to:

  • Riders who request rides and use transportation services through ZiGo.
  • Drivers who apply, onboard, and provide rides through ZiGo Drivers.
  • Visitors to our websites and customer support channels.

2) Information we collect

A) Information you provide

  • Account & profile: name, phone number, email (if used), profile photo (optional), language and basic settings.
  • Trip & service information: pickup and drop-off details, trip feedback, ratings, support requests, and communications with ZiGo.
  • Driver application and onboarding (Drivers only): identity and eligibility information (e.g., national ID/driver's license, vehicle registration, insurance), vehicle details (model/year/plate), verification selfie, and background/eligibility checks where permitted.
  • Payment information: payment method tokens from payment providers, transaction confirmations, and receipts. ZiGo typically does not store full card numbers when handled by third-party processors.

B) Information collected automatically

  • Location data: precise GPS while the app is in use for pickup, navigation, trip tracking, safety and fraud prevention. Background location may be used if enabled (e.g., driver availability and matching).
  • Device and usage data: device type, OS/app version, identifiers, language, time zone, IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, and performance data.
  • Communications: support chat/email/call metadata and content (where lawful) to resolve issues and improve service.
Note: You can manage permissions (including location) in your device settings. Disabling certain permissions may limit core features of ZiGo.

3) How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate ZiGo Services (account creation, ride requests, driver matching).
  • Enable trip operations (routing, pickup ETA, navigation, trip history).
  • Facilitate payments, receipts, and refunds.
  • Improve safety and trust (verification, risk monitoring, fraud prevention).
  • Provide customer support and handle disputes.
  • Improve the app (testing, analytics, troubleshooting, product development).
  • Send service messages (updates, security notices, policy changes).
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4) Location data and permissions

Location is core to ZiGo's functionality.

Riders

We use your location to find nearby drivers, set pickup, track your trip, and support safety features.

Drivers

We use your location to show availability, match you to nearby ride requests, provide navigation, and verify trip completion.

You control permissions

  • You can enable/disable location permissions in your device settings.
  • Disabling location may limit critical features (e.g., requesting a ride or receiving matches).

5) How we share your information

ZiGo does not sell your personal information. We may share information as follows:

A) Between riders and drivers

To complete a trip, we may share:

  • Rider display name and pickup location, destination area, and trip details.
  • Driver name, vehicle details, license plate, and live trip status.

B) Service providers

We may share data with vendors who help us operate ZiGo, such as:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure
  • Maps and navigation services
  • Customer support tools
  • Analytics and crash reporting
  • Payment processors
  • Identity verification and compliance providers (for drivers)

C) Legal and safety

We may disclose information if necessary to:

  • Comply with law, regulation, or legal process
  • Respond to lawful requests from authorities
  • Protect the rights, safety, and security of ZiGo, users, and the public
  • Investigate fraud, security incidents, or misuse

D) Business transfers

If ZiGo is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

6) Data retention

We retain information as long as needed to provide services, meet legal and regulatory obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary by data type and applicable law.

Depending on your location and applicable laws, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object to, or restrict certain processing of your information. You may also withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
